Exhibition: Handwritten - Ten Centuries of Manuscript Treasures

The German Embassy is delighted to announce a major German-Australian exhibition project on display at the National Library of Australia in Canberra from November 26 2011 on.: Handwritten - Ten Centuries of Manuscript Treasures. It will present significant manuscripts from the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin covering a millennium of European history of ideas.
The exhibition will offer visitors the unique possibility to enjoy more than 100 precious and incomparable documents, letters and musical scores from some of the world's most important thinkers and scientists like Newton, Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galilei, Darwin and many more outstanding personalities in European history.
Handwritten sets a strong focus on German representatives of music, philosophy, art and science, including music scores by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart or Brahms as well as manuscripts by Einstein, Kant, Goethe, von Humboldt, Hegel, Engels, Koch, Mann, Benz etc.
Handwritten will be on display from 26 November 2011 until 18 March 2012 at the National Library of Australia in Canberra. Don't miss this unique cultural highlight!
