Curriculum Vitae Consul General

Dr. Anne-Marie Schleich is the German Consul General in Melbourne with responsibility for the state of Victoria.

Dr. Schleich has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Mannheim. She graduated from the University of Mannheim and studied under Fulbright Scholarship at Mount Holyoke College and at Harvard University as well as the University of North Carolina.

Dr. Schleich held positions in the Embassies in Singapore and Bangkok and headed the Trade and Commerce Section of the Embassy in Islamabad. She was a foreign affairs adviser in the International Division of the Federal Chancellery in Bonn and Berlin from 1998 to 2001. From 2001 to 2004 she was Head of the Taskforce on International Biopolicy Issues in the German Foreign Office in Berlin and from 2004 to 2008 Head of Culture and Education at the German Embassy in London.

Dr. Schleich is married to Cheng Tan and has two children.
