Recognition of de facto partnerships in Germany

Same-sex couples cannot get married in Australia, however, they and also opposite-sex couples can live in a "de facto" relationship. Germany does not know "de facto" partnerships, which can pose difficulties in getting your "de facto" partnership recognized.
