The German Ambassador to Australia is Dr Anna Elisabeth Prinz. Together with her dedicated team of about 25 members of staff, she is working on maintaining and further strengthening the bilateral relationships between Germany and Australia. These relationships include political, economic and defence matters, as well as consular and cultural affairs and public relations. Since August 2016, Dr Anna Prinz is Germany's Ambassador to Australia. The Ambassador represents the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Government in Australia.

German Consulate General Sydney

The Consulate General in Sydney is responsible for the States of New South Wales and Queensland, dealing in particular with consular matters, economic relations and cultural and scientific affairs. In addition, the German Consulate General in Sydney is the „Centre of Competence” for legal & consular affairs in all Australian states and territories (except for ACT) and the Islands of Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Nauru.
